About Oculock Widgets

Oculock provides iOS widgets that allow you to quickly access your passwords and vault items directly from your home screen or lock screen. Widgets provide quick access without opening the full app.

Available Widgets

Home Screen Widgets

Add Oculock widgets to your iPhone or iPad home screen for quick access to your vault items.

Adding a Widget to Home Screen

  1. Long press on your home screen
  2. Tap the "+" button in the top left corner
  3. Search for "Oculock"
  4. Select the widget size you want (Small, Medium, or Large)
  5. Choose the widget type:
    • Quick Access: Shows frequently used items
    • Favorites: Shows your favorite items
    • Recent Items: Shows recently accessed items
  6. Select the vault to display
  7. Tap "Add Widget"
  8. Position the widget on your home screen
  9. Tap "Done"

Lock Screen Widgets

Add Oculock widgets to your lock screen for even quicker access (iOS 16+).

Adding a Widget to Lock Screen

  1. Long press on your lock screen
  2. Tap "Customize"
  3. Select "Lock Screen"
  4. Tap the widget area below the time
  5. Scroll to find Oculock
  6. Select the widget size and type
  7. Tap "Done"

Using Widgets

Viewing Items

Widgets display your vault items. Tap on an item in the widget to:

  • Open the item in Oculock
  • Copy the password or other data
  • View full item details

Quick Actions

Some widgets support quick actions:

  • Add Item: Quickly add a new item to your vault
  • Open Vault: Open the full Oculock app
  • Search: Quick search for items

Widget Types

Small Widget

Shows a few items in a compact format. Good for quick access to your most-used passwords.

Medium Widget

Shows more items with more detail. Displays item names and icons.

Large Widget

Shows the most items with full details. Best for comprehensive quick access.

Widget Security

Widgets are designed with security in mind:

  • No Passwords Shown: Widgets don't display actual passwords - only item names
  • Authentication Required: Tapping a widget requires authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, or master password)
  • Vault Locked: If your vault is locked, widgets may show limited information
  • Privacy: Sensitive data is not displayed in widgets

Customizing Widgets

You can customize widgets after adding them:

  1. Long press on the widget
  2. Tap "Edit Widget"
  3. Change the widget type or vault
  4. Adjust display settings
  5. Tap "Done"

Removing Widgets

To remove a widget:

  1. Long press on the widget
  2. Tap "Remove Widget"
  3. Confirm removal

Troubleshooting

Widget Not Showing Items

  • Ensure your vault is unlocked
  • Check that the selected vault has items
  • Try removing and re-adding the widget
  • Restart your device

Widget Not Updating

  • Widgets update periodically - they may not update immediately
  • Open the Oculock app to refresh widget data
  • Remove and re-add the widget
